There are extremely strict rules regarding the use of any electrical device near a petrol pump as there is a possibility of petrol vapour entering the device which might cause an explosion. Only certain gauges, Like the PCL-D60, with an IP66 rating are certified for this purpose.

There are Clip-on and Hold-on connectors, each available in open and closed end variations.

• Open end connectors are used on all modern PCL Tyre Inflators and gauges
• Closed end connectors are used on airline hoses without an inflator control. This will then “close” or block the flow of air until it is connected to a tyre valve which will then open the connector to allow inflation to commence.

Clip-on connectors are used on systems where the connection needs to be for an extended period, for example, when inflating a tyre that is completely deflated. This type of connector is ideal for use in a tyre shop where new tyres are fitted.

Hold-on connectors are for inflators and gauges where they will only be connected for a short period till the desired pressure is achieved.
o A twin hold-on connector is ideal when connecting to the inner valve of a truck fitted with double wheels.
